ACID RAIN

Have you seen
the acid rains fall?
It eats into the trees,
buildings, roads, bridges,
statues, grass, weeds,
cattle sheds, horse stables,
bird cages, pig pens,
good old earth and
whatever it can get
hold of in its infernal grip
that finally seeps into
the psyche of generations
which are doomed to die,
sinking in acid…

Have you seen
the acid rains
fall in the soul…
It slowly eats its
way into the deep
crevices of mindsets
which are kept hidden
in the folds of false emotions
and pretenses where the
soul is an eternal prisoner,
and the body is only
a bar of soap that’s
as flexible as the
ravaged soul itself…

A pity everything will
be devoured by the acid,
slowly turning into
mere marks of smallpox,
erasing every bit of
vanities forever…
